April started great and the faces that have long belonged to the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open have shined again in big world tournaments.
Lee-Anne Pace won on home soil Ladies European Tour, she became the champion of South African Women’s Open for fifth time. She defended her title in Cape Town after record play off on six holes against Argentinian Magdalena Simmermacher.
Pace, who participated last year in Beroun, secured her place in first position of the European ranking Race to Costa del Sol after Sunday victory. Simmermacher, who participated three years ago in Karlštejn, is in position number six. Position number seven belongs to Kristýna Napoleaová, who after sensational second place in Saudi Arabia and ninth place in Johannesburg, has passed the Ladies European tour cut again. Šideri Váňová managed to pass the cut for the first time this year.
One of the faces of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open showed her performance overseas. Pia Babnik, only 18 years old Slovenian, finished in third place at the opening major of the season LPGA in Chevron Championship in California. It belongs to her best result among the absolut elite. Babnik got her first participation chance at Ladies European Tour in Karlštejn in 2019 and in the next two years she was one of the best players in Beroun.
Less than three months before the fourth year of the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open (June 24 – 26), there is definitely a lot to look forward to.
