One of the most valuable sporting events of the year, the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, played from 21 to 23 June 2024 at the Royal Beroun Golf Club, also has a unique financial value again this year.
Three hundred thousand euros in prize money will be distributed to the professionals in the Ladies European Tour global series, with the winner receiving 45,000 euros, making the tournament also an exceptional milestone in women’s sport from a domestic and European perspective.
This year, the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open is also the last opportunity to compete in the Olympic Games, as the final nomination of sixty players for the August event in Paris will be finalized the day after the final, including two spots for Czech players. As of today, Klára Spilková and Sára Kousková hold the nomination cards. Before the start of the sixth edition of the Czech LET tournament, the spectators, either on the spot or via live broadcasts on O2 TV Sport, have a lot to look forward to.
Once again, the elite of domestic and foreign players is guaranteed (132 players from 25 countries worldwide). However, Czech golf already has four female professionals who have finished in the Top 10 at foreign LET tournaments this year. They are Klára Davidson Spilková, Sára Kousková, Jana Melichová and Tereza Melecká. Kristýna Napoleaová is also just one place away from the top 10. Three Czechs – Davidson Spilkova, Napoleaová, and Melichová – are the winners of the Ladies European Tour from previous years, and Melichová is even last year’s champion from Beroun. Tereza Koželuhová completes the above five Czech professionals starting at the LET, who, after an excellent December qualifying tournament for the LET in Morocco, started the LET / LETAS season later.
There will be some great amateurs, such as junior world champion Denisa Vodičková or Patricia Macková, who, together with other professionals Eva Koželuhová, Šideri Váňová, and Katerina Vlašínová, will bring the best quality spectacle from the domestic point of view.
At least half of the players from the current Top 10 of the European Order of Merit ranking will show up in Beroun. They include this year’s tournament winners, Belgium’s Manon De Roey (Investec South African Women’s Open), Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (Joburg Ladies Open), and Singapore’s Shannon Tan (Magical Kenya Ladies Open). Defending champion Diksha Dagar of India is the ninth in this year’s LET rankings.
